Who you (probably) are
- High on curiosity. Low on patience.
- High on autonomy. Low on ego.
- High tolerance for complexity. Low tolerance for repetition.
- Suspicious of process. Religious about pace.
- Comfortable being in every room - investor calls, hiring loops, user escalations, partner communications, founder strategy sessions.
What you (ideally) bring
- 0–2 years from a hard place. A top university, a demanding first job, a small startup where you figured things out alone, or something else weird and impressive.
- Excellent written communication. You'll be Halcy's voice in a lot of places before any of us are.
- Quantitative comfort. You can model a budget, read a P&L, and pick up SQL fast enough to pull your own data without anyone holding your hand.
- Fluency with AI tools as collaborators. Halcy is being built for the agentic era - internally too. Half the leverage of this role comes from how well you use Claude, ChatGPT, and similar, and you should already be using them daily.
- Customer instinct. You're willing to be the first person on the phone with a frustrated user, and you'll learn more from the call than from a dashboard.
- Bias for shipping over deliberating. You'd rather send the imperfect email today than the perfect one next week.
- Discretion. You'll see everything early - cap table, salaries, customer issues, internal friction. We need to trust you with all of it.
- A degree or background is not a filter. Resourcefulness, judgement, and taste are.
What you will (mostly) do
The role splits roughly 50/50 between the inside and the outside of Halcy.
Internal-facing
Making the founders more effective and the company run smoothly.
- Founder leverage. Hiring operations end to end.
- Vendor and contract management.
- Finance and bookkeeping.
- Legal admin.
- Internal systems and the tooling that holds the team together.
- The work that decides whether a three-person team operates like ten.
External-facing
Being the first point of contact for everyone who touches Halcy.
- Frontline support and high-touch onboarding for early trip creators.
- Community presence wherever our users gather.
- First conversations with prospective candidates.
- Investor logistics and data room.
- Early conversations with travel partners.
- The work that decides whether the people in Halcy's orbit feel taken care of.
